Shashank joined Tyton Partners in 2017 as a principal in the strategy consulting practice.
Previously, Shashank was a Policy Fellow with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development with the Government of Sierra Leone, where he collaborated closely with the country’s Director of Central Planning to create forecasts of Sierra Leone’s progress along development indicators in health and education sectors, and identified areas of investments that will help the country meet the Sustainable Development Goals. During his time in Sierra Leone, he also founded and ran TextDirect, an NGO leveraging mobile technology to increase adherence to malaria treatment. In addition to his work with TextDirect, Shashank worked at the Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance at USAID, where he evaluated proposals to deliver humanitarian assistance to vulnerable populations in East and Central Africa. During his time at USAID, Shashank oversaw more than 80 projects, representing more than $100M in humanitarian assistance.
Shashank also has several years of experience in the education sector. He was an Education Volunteer in the Philippines through the Peace Corps where he taught for several years at a local high school and worked closely with education policy makers at the regional and provincial levels. Through his work with the Philippines Department of Education, Shashank helped formalize and develop English language curriculum, led trainings around the use of technology in the classroom, and created market linkages to promote access to education for adult learners.
Shashank earned his BA with Honors from University of California, Berkeley, MBA from Yale School of Management and an MA in International Economics from the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs at Yale University.
