Karla joined Tyton Partners in August 2020 as an Associate in the strategy consulting practice.
Prior to joining Tyton, Karla spent three years in the classroom at the Academy of the Pacific Rim in Hyde Park, MA as a 7th-grade science teacher. In her first two years, she completed the Teach for America program. During her time as a classroom teacher, she led her grade level team in implementing culture and academic achievement plans, developed an engaging and standards-based science curriculum, and redesigned the science enrichment program in order to teach coding and computer literacy. Karla’s prior work and volunteer experience has allowed her to conduct research on varying topics from supports for refugee populations in the U.S. to interventions for global infectious disease outbreaks. Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, she speaks Spanish and French.
Karla holds a B.A. – double major in Global Health and French & Francophone Studies from Duke University. She has also earned her Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development.
