Tyton Partners has released From Promise to Practice: Delivering on K-12 Student Success and the Gaps That Remain. The report establishes a rigorous baseline of the policies, practices, and product models that drive K-12 student success and where breakdowns occur.
The report draws on two national surveys conducted in spring 2026, reflecting insights from nearly 2,000 district administrators, teachers, and parents of current K-12 students. The surveys measure how districts define, build, and deliver against four pillars of student success: academic growth; personal development; health, wellness, and safety; and college and career readiness.
From Promise to Practice finds that K-12 districts have made real progress defining what student success requires, but carrying that definition into daily practice, data systems, and district-wide decision-making remains rare. The report maps where districts sit along a three-stage maturity curve – from Defining to Building to Delivering – and identifies what separates districts who deliver strong outcomes from those still building toward them.
