VSCHOOLZ is an educational technology company that provides e-learning solutions and award-winning curriculum for schools or districts that want to support a blended digital learning environment in traditional schools, or that want to launch their own virtual programs. Calvert Education Services provides high-quality K-8 homeschooling curriculum and instructional support services.

BALTIMORE, MARYLAND — Camden Partners Holdings, LLC is pleased to announce that Calvert Education Services (CES), a portfolio company in Camden Partners Strategic Fund IV acquired VSCHOOLZ, Inc., a Huizenga Education Company, to strengthen their digital presence in the K-12 market. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

In response to the rapidly evolving market for blended learning and virtual education, Calvert and VSCHOOLZ announced the acquisition, creating a combined company that is positioned to provide industry-leading online and blended learning services to schools, districts and students. Calvert and VSCHOOLZ share a common vision, both placing strong emphasis on empowering schools and organizations to deliver educational services.

“Combining the VSCHOOLZ blended learning systems and technologies with the Calvert model will create outstanding new opportunities for delivering high quality digital education to meet the growing global demand for online and blended learning. Today, the K-12 educational environment is undergoing major shifts in focus,” said Richard Rasmus, Chief Executive Officer of CES. “This acquisition represents an exciting opportunity for two leaders in our industry to provide a broader range of educational services and resources to our academic partners. In contemplating this step we were mindful of the collective voice of our customers in their desire for access to curriculum and other tools that are proven, flexible, and easy to use. We believe the combination of our organizations will allow us to help parents and institutional partners around the world more effectively serve many more students and teachers in a digital age.”

Former Maryland State Superintendent of Education Nancy Grasmick chairs Calvert Education Services’ Board of Governors. “Our Board’s job is to uphold the high standards of CES’ Middle States accredited, full-time home- and virtual-schooling curriculum. With this acquisition we have the opportunity to expand our coverage to serve those students, parents and schools looking for such high standards in the provision of individual, supplemental, and blended learning instructional solutions,” said Grasmick.

Both organizations are committed to continuity of service to their existing customers. With this in mind, Trina Trimm Angelone, current Chief Operating Officer of VSCHOOLZ will assume the role of Chief Revenue Officer of the combined company, and other senior leaders from VSCHOOLZ will continue to serve their constituents in their current capacities on behalf of the newly merged organization.

The shareholders of VSCHOOLZ, Inc. were advised on the transaction by Education Growth Advisors, LLC.
